    Richard Chamberlain Dies at 90: TV Icon Had Hit Records in Early 60s

    He had three top 40 hits in 1962-63, with "Theme From Dr. Kildare" and covers of "Love Me Tender" and "All I Have To Do Is Dream". In addition, he was the first artist to record "They Long to Be Close to You", as a B-side to his 1963 single "Blue Guitar".
