Legendary TV game show host and producer Wink Martindale has passed away at age 91. While best known for his TV work, his Dot record of "Deck Of Cards' warrants a mention on our board. He reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the Fall of 1959 with it and earned a "gold record". He placed one other record on the chart when his "Black Land Farmer" reached #85 in 1961. He was also among the elite radio jocks, working at such as KFWB, KRLA and KHL in Los Angeles in the 1950's and 60's. I listened to him often back then, he was good!

Wink had a TV show called Space Cadets in the 50s. I was on as a kid and got my Mars Patrol "ray gun".
He also hosted Dance Party here in Memphis.

I really liked "Black Land Farmer", and often wondered why he didn't produce more songs.
