"Fascination" Singer Jane Morgan Dies at 101

As a pop singer, she was best known for "Fascination" which was a #7 hit in 1957, and "The Day The Rains Came" which reached #21 in 1958. But she had a lengthy and varied career that began in Paris nightclubs in the late 1940s, and that eventually led to dozens of appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Re: "Fascination" Singer Jane Morgan Dies at 101

While watching the video below and focusing particularly on Jane's dress, hair style and demeanor on stage, it made me think of how much of a culture shock it must have been for those who listened to and watched musical performers in the 1940s and early to mid 1950s who put forward music similar to that of Jane Morgan.  Then along comes the likes of Elvis and Little Richard and then later The Beatles (although in the early 60s they dressed nicely and sang harmoniously).  Not to mention heavy metal and psychadelic music.

Made me also consider that I felt the same way when punk, rap and hip hop started.  That's when they lost me.
