Rolling Stones' Latest Album: Foreign Tongues

The Stones released two singles from their latest album, Foreign Tongues, under their classic pseudonym, The Cockroaches.  I never heard of their pseudonym, which in and of itself is revealing (sheltered life).  The two singles,  "Rough and Twisted" (slipped out early, April 11th) and "In The Stars" (released this past Tuesday, May 4) are IMHO classic '60s Stones style tunes.  Album, to be released July 10, includes a few super star guest artists, including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, The Cure's Robert Smith, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, contributing to several of the tracks on the album.

I downloaded them and have enjoyed the new music in their classic style.  I was pleasantly surprised at the sounds of their voices - clear as a bell, sounding great without the gravelly voices from heavy historic use of drugs which can eventually take its toll.  Anyway, great, great refreshing sounds.

Re: Rolling Stones' Latest Album: Foreign Tongues

I think The Cockroaches was the name the Stones used when they performed that surprise concert at the El Mocambo in Toronto back in 1977. The fact they're still using it shows they wanted those with long memories to know who they really were.
