One of Britain's most respected composers and band leaders has passed at the age of 96.

Lauire Johnson was a native of north London who wrote a multitude of tv theme songs and scores for numerous British television programs

Without doubt his most famous composition is the theme to the hit series The Avengers, a show & theme song that I loved when it first aired in the 1960's right through to today. A stirring television theme song with no lyrics but plenty of instrumental punch.

Rest in peace Mr. Johnson

Sorry to read this.

I saw Gerry Marsden in person several times in the early 2000's in Orillia and Niagara Falls & was a great fan of the original band.

In fact about 20 years ago I was in email contact with Les Chadwick the Pacemakers bass player who was a residnet of Sydney Australia. Mr. Chadwick passed a few years back of brain cancer.

Les Maguire was a child prodigy when it came to music and was proficient to the extreme on piano and saxaphone. In fact in his very early days in the group he played sax and not the piano. But that soon changed.

May he rest in peace.

Haven't seen this mentioned here.Did a search and it came up blank so better late than never.

John Duckworth who was the drummer for the 60's group Syndiate of Sound passed away in August of 2022

The California group made a huge impact on the charts and my childhood in 1966 with their hit single Little Girl

The song has always been one of my favourites. John Duckworth was a talented drummer & a quick listen to Little Girl with the volume up and one ear to his drum fills proves that.

Mr. Hinsche along with Desi Arnaz junior & Dean Paul Martin comprised the rock trio Dino, Desi and Billy in the 60's.

Mr. Hinsche then went on to play and perform with the Beach Boys. His sister Anne was married to Beach Boy Carl Wilson.
